Dhimaad (Radiyallahu Anhu)

Dhimad, who belonged to the tribe of Azd-Shanu’ah, very famous for sooth-saying, enchanting and treating people from the evil effects of black-magic and Jinns. He heard about the person of Banu- Hashim, everybody was saying he enchanted by evil effect of black-magic or jinns. The person was very nice to others before. Everybody worried what happened to the nicest person of the entire community. Why he keeping saying things that disgracing the entire community?

Dhimad, was a kind man, he thought to treat that person. He asked about the whereabouts of the person to the people of Makkah, so that he can treat Him. On knowing His whereabouts, he met that person, on meeting Him he said,

“I treat the possessed ones and I want to treat you. You should not consider it a big thing. I have treated such person’s who were more possessed than you. I have heard from the people of your tribe accusing you of dividing your tribe, telling who had passed away as misguided, and of cursing your god’s. Only a person possessed by Jinns ( and evil spirit) can behave like you. I want to treat you and I hope that Allah will cure you.”

The person started talking, His words was neither like a possessed one nor like a mad person. Every single words touched the heart of Dhimad, Listening that Mubarak voice he was surprise how people say him mad or possessed? His conscience says the person is someone very great, appointed for a great responsibility. What did that person said that changed Dhimad’s heart at once? The person said,

“ Verily all praise due to Allah. We praise Him and we ask His help. Nobody can misguide a person whom Allah guides; and nobody can guide the one whom He leaves astray. I bear witness that none is worthy of worship besides Allah, who is alone and has no partner. I bear witness that Muhammad (Sallalahu Alaihi wa Sallam) is His servant and Messanger”.

The person repeated it 3 times. Dhimad was an intelligent person, by hearing this Dhimad said,

“ By Allah, I have heard the talk’s of soothsayers, enchanters and poets but I have never heard speech similar to this”.

Dhimad’s heart enlightened, the Noor of those blessed word’s touched his heart and he took the biggest decision to change his life and become the companion of this great personality whom the ignorant says magician, mad and possessed by Jinn. Dhamad was knowledgeable person, his intelligence drove him to become the companion of the leader of all Ambiya (Alaihissalam) Sayyidul Ambiyai wal Mursalin, Tajedaar e Haram, Habeeb of Allah (Azza wa Jalla) Muhammad Mustafa, Ahmad Mujtaba, the seal of prophet hood Hazrat Muhammad (Salllallahu alaihi wa Sallam). Dhimad said without any delay,

“ Bring your hand so that I may take pledge for Islam”.

The Nabiyyur Rahmah (Sallallahu Alahi wa Sallam), whose heart was full of the love for his Ummah, who always remained concerned about the Fikr Ummah, Rahmatullil Alamin (Sallalahu alaihi wa sallam ) asked to Dhimad,

“Is this pledge also for your nation?”.

Dhimad replied,

“ Yes this pledge is also for my Nation. What is your message? ”

Nabi (Sallahu Alahi wa Sallam) replied,

“ It is that you believe in the oneness of Allah, who has no partner. Throw the yoke of idolatry off your neck; and declare that I am the messenger of Allah.”

Dhimad asked again, “ What’s the reward for this?”.

Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) replied, “ The paradise”.

Dhimad threw away the yoke of idolatry from his neck and declared delightedly,

أشهدُ أنْ لا إلهَ إلاَّ اللهُ وأشهدُ أنَّ محمّداً رسولُ الله

(I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam is His Messanger)

Dhimad became (Radiyallahu Anhu), among the group of the golden people of golden time Sahaba (Radiyallahu Anhum). His heart became enlightened with the Noor of Imaan. he stood for awhile with Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) and learnt a number of chapters of the Holy Quraan. Then he returned to his clan with the Noor of Imaan.
