By Respected Sheikh Yaseen

(Amir of entire south Victoria and Respected Shura member of Alami Shura Australia)

Alhamdulillah Allah SWT accepted us for the gathering of Taleem, we should feel it a great Niyamah of Allah SWT. Hadeeth to the nearest meaning,

Abu Huraira (Radiyallahu Anhu) reported: The Prophet (صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ) said , “Verily, Allah Almighty has groups of angels who have no other work but to follow gatherings of remembrance. When they find such gatherings in which there is remembrance of Allah taking place, they sit with them and some of them surround the others with their wings until the space between them and the heavens is covered. When they disperse, they ascend to the heavens and Allah Almighty asks them, although He knows better than them: From where have you come? They say: We came from Your slaves who were glorifying You, declaring Your greatness and oneness of you, praising You and asking from You. Allah says: What do they ask from Me? They say: They ask for Your Paradise. Allah says: Have they seen My Paradise? They say no. Allah says: What if they were to see My Paradise? They say: They would do more effort to get that.” Allah says: From what do they seek My protection? They say: From Your Hellfire, our Lord. Allah says: Have they seen My Hellfire? They say no. Allah says: What if they were to see My Hellfire? The angles say: They would ask for Your forgiveness more. Allah says: I will pardon them, give them what they request, and grant them protection. They say: Our Lord, there is one among them, a simple servant who happened to pass by and sit there alongside them. Allah says: I will also grant him pardon, for whoever sits with them will be forgiven.” ( Sahih Bukhari and Muslim)

This is such a gathering that nobody present in this gathering are deprived from the blessing of this gathering. The purpose of this gathering is that we come and learn from here to take this environment at our home and do our house Taleem with all the family members together so that everybody get the Noor of this gathering. We should sit with our new born babies even in this gathering, he baby don’t understand but the Noor of Taleem will enter in the heart InshaAllah.

The environment is very important, when the environment doesn’t remain, Deen fades away slowly from life. The Muslimeen ruled in Spain for 800 years, they made Masjid, Madrasa and all other Islamic structures, 800 years was long time, but because of lack of Dawah and environment, the great Mosque of Cordova (Cordoba) is using as a museum now. A Muslim went to visit the great Mosque, there was no place of Salaat there. So he thought, a Masjid is Masjid no matter how people using it now, let’s pray two Rakaat Salaat, he found a place behind a pillar and started praying Salaat. He was praying Salaat, a policeman came and started pocking him with a stick so that he leaves Salaat, he was thinking just two Rakaat salat lets finish it fast. The policeman then started beating him, When he still keeping praying Salaat, the policeman came at the place of Sijdah and put his feet there so that the person give Sijdah on his feet, now what to do, he made his two hands together and gave Sijdah like that. With such difficulty when he finished his Salaat, the police intently pulled him from there and get him out from the Mosque. Because of leaving Dawat, the Mahol (Environment) changed and a Mosque turned into a museum. That’s why making a Mahol is very important. Among the early immigrants of Australia, many were Muslims from different countries, they came here as Muslim, but because of not having any environment, we can see there progeny became non Muslim even. That’s why we should work hard to have a Mahol at home. Sahaba (Radiyallahu Anhum) were teachers at home, whatever they learnt from Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Sallam) they taught there family members, mother taught their children, from home came out the greatest Ulama, Muhaddith of time and they spread Deen to the world. That’s why having an environment of Deen at home should be given great importance.

Allah SWT created this world and whatever in it, everything running by His order and command, When He orders something nobody can change it, sometimes He SWT brings some temporary changes to warn us about His disobedience. Two weeks ago, lunar eclipse occurred, it was came by the command of Allah, it was a warning from the Lord of the Universe, if you go away from my path, the path of righteousness, these things will happen. Look everywhere, the disobedience of Allah is so common, Nabi (S.W’s) prophecy was, before Qiyamah, music and dancing will spread, Look everywhere, these are the norms of time now, We should stay away from these mischief. all the minor signs of Qiyamah are visible now, the bigger signs will also appear very soon. We should be careful about that and save ourselves from these mischief’s that engulfing the families, society and the entire world.

This worldly life is very short, Hani (Rahmatullahi Alaih) narrates that, whenever Uthman (Radiyallahu Anhu) would stood by a grave he would weep so bitterly that his tears would wet his beard. Somebody asked; When Paradise and Hell are mentioned, you do not weep this much, but why do you weep at the sight of the grave?

So he replied: Indeed, Nabi ﷺ said: Verily, the grave is the first stage among the stages of the Hereafter, if one is saved from (the Punishment of) it, then all the other stages will be easier. And if one does not find safety from here, then the next stages shall be more severe than it.

And Nabi ﷺ said: I have not seen a sight more horrifying than (the Punishment of) the grave.”

So do not consider the grave is a pit only rather its a place of Punishment for the wrongdoers, or a garden of Jannah. Hadhrat Zainab (Radiyallahu Anha) was the daughter of the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam), she was wounded for Islaam so severely that took her near to the deathbed, even after all her hardships for Islaam, the prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa sallam) feared for her and made Duaa for her safety from the punishment of grave. Its something we should ponder about, when a wrongdoer will be kept in the grave, the grave will give pressure to him such a way that the ribs of one side will penetrate to the other side, The angles of punishment will smite him such a way that, just on one beat the person will enter into 70 arms length in the depth of the earth. That’s why turn towards Allah before death, Allah is the one who provides, who gives and does everything for us, so turn towards him before death.

We should follow the path of salvation that Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) showed us, Sahaba (Radiyallahu Anhum) used to follow the prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) in every details that during the time of Nabi (Sallallahu alaihi wa Sallam) there was a tree in a certain place, whenever Nabi (Sallallahu alaihi wa Sallam) would pass that tree, he would bent his head to save His head from the branches, time passed the tree died, Abdullah bin Umar (Radiyallahu Anhu) was passing that path one day, he bent his head in a certain place. people asked him why did he do that, he reminded the sweet memory of the time of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) and said there was a tree and Nabi (Sallallahu alaihi wa Sallam) did like this to save Him from the tree branches, although there is no tree now but I’m following the Sunnah of Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi was Sallam). That was their obedience to the Sunnah. We should follow Deen without any question, This Deen is the Hukm of Allah, there is no question in it.

Aaisha (Radiyallahu anha) said whenever Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi wa sallam) would enter in the house, if He would see her doing some household chores, instantly He would start helping her. Somebody asked to Amma Aaisha (Radiyallahu Anha) “O Ummul Mu’mineen, tell me about the character of the Messenger of Allah ( صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ) ” Aisha (Radiyallahu Anha) said, “Have you not read the Quran?” he said, “Of course.” Aisha (Radiyallahu Anha) said, “Verily, the character of the Prophet of Allah was the Quran.”

The prophet (S.W) had 11 wives and he was favorite to everybody, at the time of His demise he had 9 wives, why 11 wives? He was a prophet of men and women both. Islam gave the order to do veil to the women. All the Sahaba (Radiyallahu Anhum) used to learn from Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) and they were busy with different activities of Deen too, who would teach to the womenfolk then? the houses of Ummahatul Mumineen was like Madrasa’s, all women and children would come and learn Deen from them. Their life was for spreading Deen.

Sahaba (Radiyallahu Anhum) was obeying the Sunnah of Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) such a way that, it was hard to find who is Nabi and who is Sahaba. When Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi wa sallam) migrated to Madeenah, Nabi (Sallallahu alaihi wa Sallam) was staying in the house of Abu ayyoob Ansari (Radiyallahu Anhu) people came to visit Him, He and Sahaba (Radiyallau Anhum) because of following Sunnah in every details, was mixed up so much that nobody could recognize easily who was Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam)

We should bring and adore the Sunnah in our lives to get success in this world and in the Akhirah. Aaisha (Radiyallahu Anha) was very young, Nabi (Sallalahu Alaihi wa Sallam) would love her and allow all her childish acts. She would like to play sometimes because of her tender age, Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) would accompany her, He was a best playmate for any child. Again, when He would give letters to the leaders of different nation, He was stern. At the time of battle of trench, Sahaba (Radiyallahu Anhum) was digging the trench, He also accompanied them in digging trench. He was a person who would mix with everybody as they are,

During the battle of Khandaq, there was some food at Jabir (Radiyallahu Anhu’s) s house. He talked to his wife and decided to treat them to the Messenger of Allah and a few Companions with him. Besides, they did not have enough food for more Companions. Jabir (Radiyallahu Anhu) went to the Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi wa sallam) and said, “I have some food. I invite you and a few people to my house.” The Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi wa sallam) said, “All right. Tell your wife not to take the food from the stove and not to remove the bread from the oven before I come.”

Then Nabi (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) invited the entire group of people in Khandaq. Hundreds of Companions who were trying to suppress their hunger by the stones they had tied on their stomachs proceeded to Jabir’s (Radiyallahu Anhu’s) house. The Companions filled Jabir’s (Radiyallahu Anhu’s) house and the area near his house in groups. In the meantime, Jabir (Radiyallahu Anhu) looked at the food that was cooked and the number of the people that came to his house and did not know what to do due to his astonishment. His wife assured him saying, the Rasul of Allah invited them, Allah will arrange the food for them.

Then, the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) arrived and ordered them to put the food in the Sufra. He started to distribute food to the people. He took some bread, put some cooked meat on it, and handed it over to each of the Companions who were in line. Although hundreds of Companions filled their stomachs, the meal, which had been prepared only for a few people, did not run out. After everybody ate, the Messenger of Allah also ate some. And there was still some bread and meat left. all 1500 people ate to their fill from there at that night.

How was His behavior during the time of Scarifies that’s also should learn, At the time of death Nabi (S.W) was worried for His Ummah. saying “Ummati” “Ummati” worried what will happen to his Ummah after him. When Jibrail (Alaihissalam) said Allah will make you happy about your Ummah, only then He found peace. today we have forgotten about the Sunnah of that Nabi? Who was worried about us even at the time of death? We not only practicing Sunnah but some of us have hatred for Sunnah too, we have hatred for the Sunnah of the Nabi, who was caring for us even at the time Death?

At the time of His Demise, there was no oil at home to lit the light, Aaisha (Radiyallahu Anha) lent some oil from a neighboring house with this word, the oil is needed for the Habeeb (Sallallahu Alaihi wa sallam) who is about to pass this world. Allah SWT gave so many Niyamah, how much shukr we make? Nabi (Sllallahu alahi wa Sallam) and his family would go through huger for day’s, One Sahabi (Radiyallahu Anhu) narrated, ” The prophet (Salllallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) did not satiate His family with wheat bread for three consecutive nights until he departed from this world.”

Once the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) went out (of His house), there He met Abu Bakr and ‘Umar (Radiyallahu Anhuma) also. He (ﷺ) said, “What made you leave your houses at this hour?” They said, “It is hunger, O Messenger of Allah.” He said, “By Him in Whose Hands my soul is, what made you leave, made me also leave, so come with me” And He went along with them to the Abu Ayyoob Ansari ( Radiyallahu Anhu’s) house, but they did not find him in his house. When the wife of Abu Ayyoob Ansari ( Radiyallahu Anhu) saw the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam), she was very happy and said said, “You are most welcome.” Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to her, “Where is Abu Ayyoob Ansari ( Radiyallahu anhu) ?” She said, “He went to fetch some fresh water for us.” In the meantime, Abu Ayyoob Ansari ( Radiyallahu Anhu) came back and saw Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and two companions and said: “Praise be to Allah, today no one has more honorable than the guests.” He then went out and brought them a bunch of date with ripe, not fully ripe and green dates in it and requested them to eat from it. He then took his knife (to slaughter a sheep). Rasulullah (ﷺ) said to him, “Do not kill a milch sheep.” So he slaughtered a sheep. After that they had eaten and drank to their fill, Rasulullah (ﷺ) said to Abu Bakr and ‘Umar (Radiyallahu Anhuma), “By Him in Whose Hand my soul is, you will certainly be questioned about this bounty on the Day of Resurrection. Hunger brought you out of your homes, and you do not return to your homes till you have been blessed with this food”

From that food Nabi () said to Abu Ayyopb (R.D) to take some food for Fatima (Radiyallahu Anha) cause she was also hungry for 3 consecutive days. Fatimah (Radiyallahu Anha) will be the queen of the ladies of Jannah. When she will pass the Siraat everybody will be asked to lower their gaze because of her Haya and modesty. Fatimah (Radiyallahu Anha) who was concerned before her death about her Haya and said not to bury her at day time so that nobody can see and measure about her height and weight. She was so much concerned to protect her Haya and keep her hidden from the people outside. The leader of the ladies of Jannah, went through that hardship of hunger and thirst, Allah SWT gave us the Niyamah of everything, let’s make Shukr of it. Allah will ask about the Niyamah of food and drink, how much shukr should we make? what is the shukr of all the Niyamah that Allah SWT gave us? It’s His obedience, A complete submission to Him and His order.

The women have got the responsibility to create an environment at home, encourage the men of the house to go to the path of Allah and give Tarbiyyat to children. Hadrat Faruq (Rahmatullahi Alahi) was going to the path of Allah, his wife was expecting, before leaving home he gave 300 dinners to his wife and said to utilize these dinners carefully. He went away, 1 month passed, 6 months passed, 1 year, 5 years, 15 years, 25 years passed, he came after 27 years. after coming in his locality, when he reached to the Masjid, a handsome young boy with great Adaab was giving Dars (lesson) from the pulpit, he was marveled by the knowledge and intelligence of that young Aalim. After the Dars when Hadrat Faruq (Rahmatullahi Alaih) reached home with great happiness the same young Aalim was there at the door, The youth asked him why he came here, when he said its his home, the youth was angry as he and his old mother lives in this place and none else, how could this old person be the owner of this house. When both were showing anger the mother heard the voice and from inside called her son, this is your father. Came back home after 27 years, spent time to in the path of Allah to spread Deen of Allah, The child was in the womb of the mother, when he came back he found the boy was then a great Aalim. the 300 dinners that he left to his wife, that was the outcome of that money, she utilized to give good Tarbiyyah to their son.

Khansa (Radiyallahu Anha), she was poet, no other poet came like her before or after amongst the women. Sne day before the battle of Qadisiya, she was encouraging her 4 son’s to fight with great vigor next day with the power of her poetic words, because of the mothers encouragement next day at battle field, sons were reciting the mothers couplets and fighting in the battle, all 4 son’s gave there life and martyred. If only one child dies, we know what is the heartache of a mother, not only 1 or 2 all her 4 son’s became Shaheed, when this news was reached to her, she said for this day I gave them birth, on the day of judgment I will say proudly I am the mother of 4 Saheed. The Fikr and Jazba of the mothers was like this, we love our children, the real love is teaching Deen to our children. make them eternally successful. The mothers are the first Madrasa, that’s why our mothers and sisters should have Deen in their lives so that they can create a Mahol at their homes.

On the day of judgement if any women is destined for the hellfire, the husband will be called first, and will be inquired what made him disable to teach Deen to this lady and will be punished for his disability to teach her at first. That’s why we should go out in the path of Allah to learn, what is our responsibility and fulfill them with the best possible way. By reading book’s we can learn but the practical Deen comes by going in the path of Allah. When we go in the path of Allah and see the condition of Ummah, mix with different people we understand how much to learn, how many are waiting to learn and acquire, how valuable is our single moments of efforts. that’s why everybody give your names to go in the path of Allah InshaAllah.
