How to make Duaa for our children?

Allah SWT accepts the Duaa of the parent’s for their children. Allah SWT accepts the Duaa of one Muslim for another Muslim as well, these are the grate opportunity for us. How can we utilise these opportunities?

There is a Hadeeth among 40 Ahaadeeth, Where the angles keep informing Allah (SWT) about the condition of the fetus in the womb of a mother,

The Hadeeth-

عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏ “‏ إِنَّ اللَّهَ ـ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ـ وَكَّلَ بِالرَّحِمِ مَلَكًا يَقُولُ يَا رَبِّ نُطْفَةٌ، يَا رَبِّ عَلَقَةٌ، يَا رَبِّ مُضْغَةٌ‏.‏ فَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَقْضِيَ خَلْقَهُ قَالَ أَذَكَرٌ أَمْ أُنْثَى شَقِيٌّ أَمْ سَعِيدٌ فَمَا الرِّزْقُ وَالأَجَلُ فَيُكْتَبُ فِي بَطْنِ أُمِّهِ ‏”‏‏.‏

Anas ibn Mālik (Radiyallahu Anhu) reported that the Prophet ﷺ said: “Allah has appointed an angel in charge of the womb, and the angel says:

‘O Lord, (it is) a sperm drop!

O Lord, (it is now ) a clot!

O Lord, (it is now) a piece of flesh.’

Then, when Allah wills to complete its creation, the angel asks: ‘O Lord, (will it be) a male or female? Wretched (an evil doer) or blessed (doer of good)? How much will his provisions be? How long will he live?’ All that is written while the fetus is still in his mother’s womb.”

When the fetus development keeps going, that is the best time for making Duaa for the child! Or a bit more, we can start asking Duaa for righteous children even before pregnancy, before the existence of the fetus in the womb.

We ask with the beautiful names of Allah,

“ Ya Latif, Ya Karim, Ya Rahim, Ya Razzaq, Ya Hayyu, Ya Qayyum, Ya Zul-Jalaji-wal-Ikraam, Ya Allah, Ya Rabb, bestow upon us a child with the same , Fate, Fikr, Imaan, Sabr, Shukr, Ibaadah, purity and dignity like the family, wives & children of Rasulullah ﷺ . Bestow upon us a child with physical & Mental strength, a child with good health, with the completeness of all the limb’s and organ’s, good health in worldly life, Right height & beauty,

Save the child from all calamity, test & trials and sickness in it’s entire life. Save the child from Shaitaan, the Waswasa of Shaitaan, Shirk, Riya, Ego & worldly pride, Kufr until it’s end of time, save the child from evil eyes, Jealousy & jealous people, Backbiting, Save the child from poverty and the evil effect of poverty, bestow the child with the wealth of Barakah.

Save the child from anger, worst Akhlaq, argumentative behaviour, give the child beautiful Akhlaq, Adaab, intelligence & brilliance, save the child from laziness and foolishness.

Accept the child to become selfless, Dayee of Deen, Imam of the era, Khadim of Deen, Bestow the child with righteous spouse and whatever I’m asking for the child give these to it’s children and it’s entire progeny too, to it’s spouse too Rather give them more then my asking.

Make the child obedient, the coolness of my eyes, accept it and it’s progeny to be the dweller’s of Madeenatul Munawwarah, accept it and its progeny to be buried in Jannatul Baqi, accept it and it’s progeny for Jnnatul Firdaus, a place next to Maqame Mahmood and accept it and it’s progeny to see your countenance again and again in Jannah.”

When the child is in the womb of the mother, Allah SWT writes it’s fate, ask more and more Duaa during this time for the child and for its entire progeny.

رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا
